Bronze Buddha statue


The statue of the Holy Buddha is in Hong Kong on the island of Lantau. The statue is made of all bronze. Its construction began in 1990 and ended in 1993. Monks from all over the world gathered at its opening.The statue weighs 250 tons, and its height reaches 34 meters. This statue was the largest Buddha statue in the world until 2007.
The Buddha simaoizes harmony with both nature and the world. The most remarkable thing is that he looks to the north, while all the Buddha statues are facing south.

The Buddha statue has become a famous tourist attraction. Log in is available from 10:00 to 17:45. The entrance is abolutely free.

To get to the statue you need to overcome 268 steps or drive along a narrow road.

There is a very beautiful landscape: behind it is a tea garden, and in the distance, Lantau peak, one of the highest in Hong Kong (938 meters).
